A SEA CHANGE
BLUT + EISEN / 2026 TOURING / LIFE
Hello every body how are you? Since October I have been settling into a new life at Blut und Eisen, here in Berlin. UNIV ERSE will live on forever in my heart wherever I am. Hopefully you took a piece of it as well. There not enough gratitude I could offer every person who ever helped keep the magic alive in that space. 12 years passed by in the blink of an eye and somehow as slow as molasses.
I needed a 12 year nervous system retreat to give myself time to develop ritual in a private sober queer sanctuary. Being on tour the last few years visiting old friends reminded me that I was missing a huge piece of the greater tattooer puzzle. I feel extremely grateful to be around people I have looked up to for many years. That feeling of reverence for tattooing lives there as an entity and is palpable. Blut und Eisen has a 30 year history of developing tattooing and pushing aesthetics that conceive of the body as a whole.
The feeling I had in my body walking up to the front door for my first chat what very much like when I approached AKA when moving to Berlin in 2012. I remember to this day calling AKA from Canada not thinking that I would be needing to speak German to start off a conversation... Luckily for me the studio is very multi lingual and Hannah answered my call with a British accent. This time around I approached a conversation with Yvonne speaking German, nervous but a good nervous, more excited. She kindly offered me to set up UNIV ERSE and keep offering rituals as they still need to be conducted now under her roof.
This next image is a collector Manu’s new feet, who has been tattooed by several dear friends Joseph and Henric and Vincent and even Michele I think.
This next photo is of a dear old friend Nika who has since left Berlin. We had hand drawn and tattooed her body suit directly inspired by Kabbalah. I digitally removed her tattoos first then added these large patterns as an offering. This next phase will be focusing on large scale works being very motivated by my the tattooers around me who share their knowledge. This is my 20th year tattooing and I truly feel like I have barely scratched the surface. Thank you to everyone who was made this possible, supported ritual processes, you know who you are!
The next tour is for January, first to Cardiff then off to Dublin. I have been setting the intention to slow down touring which actually means less cities but still the first week of each month. I postponed the November tour and plan to come back that way one day!
2026 TOUR DATES
When I was a kid we had a dog named Juna then many moons later Joni came into our lives. Nothing great is ever really planned. I say that lovingly to myself as a reminder with a Leo rising Libra sun and Aquarius Moon.

Beautiful reflection on needing that 12-year nervous system reset to develop your ritual practice. The way you describe approaching Blut und Eisen with that same reverent feeling as when you first contacted AKA really captures how certain spaces hold that tangible energy for craft. Your shift toward large-scale bodysuit work after 20 years shows real humility about always being atstudent. Congrats on finding a home where the ritual can continue to breathe.
